Realtors and Homeowners: SELLING YOUR HOME?

If you’re selling your home, please remember that it is Virginia State Law to provide prospective buyers with a complete Resale Package. This does not mean giving the new owner a copy of your old documents! Please don’t take any shortcuts on this important requirement! You could be held responsible if your purchaser does not receive the proper disclosures. To order a Resale Package, you or your real estate agent will need to log onto www.communitygroup.com and click on the “Selling & Refinancing” tab on the left side of the homepage. You’ll need to register for the service by entering a few pertinent pieces of information such as your name, address, and e-mail address. Once registered, you can order the documents you need. You’ll want to have handy your anticipated closing date and settlement agency, as well as the buyers name if you know it. It takes about 10 business days to prepare the package and you can opt to have it delivered electronically or by mail, or you can pick it up at Community Group’s office at 4534 Bonney Road in Virginia Beach.
